Depuis plus de 40 ans, Patrick Berth a développé son expérience à Paris. Spécialiste en marqueterie Boulle, vernisseur et marqueteur chez les plus grands : Jacques Perrin, Bernard Steinitz et Michel Germond. Pendant 15 ans, en tant que chef d’atelier il appréhende tous les corps de métiers nécessaires à la restauration du mobilier et des objets d’art : gainier, bronzier, sculpteur, marbrier, doreur, tapissier...
Ses compétences couvrent la période du XVIIème au XXème siècle ainsi que la création de mobilier pour architecte d’intérieur. Sa clientèle est pour l’essentiel composée d'antiquaires et de collectionneurs privés.
En 2020, Patrick Berth fort de son expérience devient Expert, membre de la CNE (Compagnie Nationale des
Experts).
With an experience of more than 40 years working with the best known cabinetmakers in Paris such as Jacques Perrin, Bernard Steinitz and Michel Germond, Patrick BERTH has developped as a specialist in Boulle marquetry, varnisher and inlayer.
During 15 years, he was in charge of several different workshops where he kept on learning the various arts of the restoration work : leather casing, bronzemaking, sculpting, marble work, gilding, upholstery...
His expertise in restoration of furniture and artefacts covers the period from the 17th century to the 20th century. He is also competent to create furniture for interior designers. Most of his clients are antique dealers and private collectors.
As early as 2020, with his strong experience, Patrick Berth becomes an expert at the CNE (Compagnie Nationale des Experts).

THE TECHNIQUE OF MARQUETRY
Au début des années 1980, Michel Germond met au point une technique de dépose des placages permettant de préserver sans usure l’intégralité des placages. Aujourd’hui la technique du sous-vide peut permettre d’éviter un dé-placage, de réhydrater les colles anciennes et d’injecter de la colle neuve pour nourrir les placages soulevés en les préservant. Le conseil de la méthode de restauraIon d’un meuble plaqué se fait en fonction de ce que son état permet et du besoin du client.
At the beginning of the eighties, the cabinetmaker Michel Germond developed a veneer deposit technique which permitted to fully preserve the veneering without wear.
Nowadays, the technique of the vaccum enables to avoid a deplating by rehydrating the old glues and by injecting new glue to nourrish the raised veneers while preserving them.
The advice for the restoration method of a veneered piece of furniture is based on its condition and on the client’s need.

Spécialiste du vernis tampon, Patrick BERTH réalise aussi le rempli-ciré, le poli. La brillance peut être modulée selon le souhait du client et l’époque du meuble.
One of the Patrick Berth’s specialities is the French varnish but he can also make the filled and waxed finishing as well as the polish. According to and the time of the furniture, The gloss can be ajusted according to the client’s taste and the time when the furniture was made.

Créé en 2017, l’atelier d’ébénisterie Patrick BERTH est situé en proche banlieue parisienne dans une zone de construction très accessible, au rez-de-chaussée, dans un espace rationnel, lumineux et discret. Il est équipé d’un système de sécurité.
Patrick BERTH’s workshop was created in 2017. It is situated in Paris in a very accessible area of a nearby eastern suburb. It is based on the ground floor in a bright and discrete rational space and is equiped with a security system.
